Lounging in Layers

On my very extended journey of self love, one practice has consistently made it easier to tackle my days and nights. Dress like the esoteric, bohemian,stardust goddess unicorn I feel is my authentic self. No matter what the days activities are. On this particular day I worked out, cleaned and spent a great deal of time with my nose in a book ( Voice of Knowledge by Don Miguel Ruiz - HIGHLY recommend). A lounging day. When I was in my low esteem slump, I would have worn sweats or an outfit that could get dirty. Might not have even bothered with eyeliner. Now I understand how energetically influential dressing like your truest self can be. My whole day felt like a bohemian dream and I had beautiful thoughts all day simply because I decided to be authentic with my wardrobe. So often I have kept clothing in the closet for months, years even, left untouched for the perfect occasion. By doing this I was reinforcing the idea that I do not deserve to look nice every day. This might sound silly to those among us who have lived with self love for most of their years, but I want anyone who struggles with self compassion to try this tactic.  Always dress like you. Even if that you changes everyday :) Today I might dress like a draped Goddess, tomorrow might be my version of Tony Soprano. Stay tuned in and turned on my darlings.
